At Early Skies, we recognize that the face of education is in the midst of major changes. The traditional public school approach has not been working for many. After teaching for 15 years as a classroom teacher and specialist, the birth of my own child prompted me to rethink how children learn best.  I have always has a passion for nature. adventure, and projects

I have been teaching for 15 years, both in the elementary classroom and as a Reading Specialist. I have taught in urban, suburban, rural, and online schools across California, New York, and Virginia. I am a certified Reading Specialist and have a Master's degree in Teaching Language and Literacy. I am also National Board Certified in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy.  

​I am able to offer your child a range of programs including a reading program, writing program, fully integrated literacy program, or a custom designed program.  Each program will be created specifically for your child based on their academic goals and personal interests. I use a strengths-based approach so your child is always growing in their confidence and independence. Flexible plans are offered to accommodate a variety of learners and family schedules. I am currently available for virtual sessions only. I look forward to working together!
I believe we are all born with an innate desire to learn and grow. I love teaching children who are intrinsically motivated and looking for a challenge, as well as those children who need support and imagination in order to ignite their love of learning again! My classes are designed to be individualized, flexible, and engaging.   For small group classes, I strive to help each child reach their goals, while creating an engaging learning community. For one-on-one teaching, I create a curriculum specifically for your child based on their academic goals and personal interests.

While literacy is an extremely important building block to a successful future, I also believe learning is meant to be fun! I like to be silly and love to laugh! I love everything about nature and exploring new places with my family. I look forward to getting to know your child and their passions!
